One family at a time

Care for the child.
Room to breathe for the family.

Caring for a child with complex medical needs touches every part of family life. We listen first, understand the real needs, and work toward help we can responsibly sustain.

Financial relief & everyday needs

We consider expenses associated with a child’s medical needs and the demands of caregiving. Support is tailored to the selected family and depends on need, available funding, and capacity.

Accessibility & practical support

Adaptive equipment, accessible transportation, and home accessibility can make everyday care more manageable. We evaluate these needs with the family and plan support around the work and resources required. When Bijou Builds participates in home modifications, its role and contribution are made transparent.

Could this van be the right fit for your family?

We would love to give our accessible van to a child and family in need. It is a fully loaded 2019 Chrysler Pacifica with approximately 30,000 miles and a VMI in-floor automatic ramp, stored in a climate-controlled garage in California.

This van does not fit Margo’s family’s situation, so the diesel Sprinter van fundraiser for the Olschners is still needed. We hope the van in California can help another family.

If your family could benefit, or you know a family who might, start a conversation with Julie. She can discuss the vehicle details and whether it could be a suitable fit. Please begin with a general note rather than medical records.

Care coordination & advocacy

Navigating services and communicating a family’s needs can become a full-time responsibility. We help connect the dots, identify resources, and support the family’s voice.

A commitment we can stand behind

We focus on one medically complex child and one family at a time. Our commitment continues until that family’s needs are sustainably met. We add another family when we have the capacity to do so responsibly.

Looking for support?

Julie can talk with you about current availability, eligibility, and the appropriate next step. An inquiry is not an application or a guarantee of assistance. Please start with a general note rather than medical records or sensitive family information.

Meet Margo.
Her world has a soundtrack.

A favorite playlist on repeat. A little backpack carrying a boombox. A smile that makes you smile, too. Margo loves her music—and we’re raising money for a diesel Sprinter van to help her family get around with a place for Margo to settle in and enjoy it.

A few things you may be wondering

Good questions. Clear answers.

Does the foundation support families nationwide?

We welcome donors and sponsors from across the country. Family eligibility and available support are considered separately. Contact Julie to discuss current availability and geographic eligibility.

How is a family selected?

Families are considered through a careful review of needs and the foundation’s capacity. The board approves finalists, and Chance and Julie make the final family selection.

Does every inquiry receive funding?

No. Assistance depends on a family’s needs, available resources, and the foundation’s existing commitments. Contacting us does not guarantee financial support.
